Unable to play dota...HELP

OK, here is something that i have been experiencing, got both warcraft 3 and frozen throne CDs. Last time thought my com was bad so, cannot play, i din bother, now i got a lappy but then is i cannot play it also.
Ok, i installed, and can play custom games in wc3 maps.
i download dota maps but cannot seems to be able to run those maps. It is there but just don't work. I tried until fed up. why cannot dota....
something wrong with my lappy?
something wrong with the cd?
something wrong with what??????????? ahhhh

when u load dota..you can't add AI and when u try to load, it jumps back to custom maps?
long story short..your version cannot support dota
you need to upgrade ur version -
