first question, yes. Its also recommended that you remove your battery from the laptop after charging finish and continue your work on AC power. It is said to reduce the lifespan of the battery if its fully charged and you left it in the laptop while using it on AC power.Originally posted by dinky1409:Orite.. I bought the laptop at last.. Now, because I'm such a virgin, I have a few questions..
For this laptop of mine, can I use the laptop using the power supply without the battery attached to the laptop? Lets say if my laptop is not fully charged, but I was charging it but I suddenly have to go off, is it safe to stop charging it?![]()
Yay! Thanks a lot for the reply! Might put up more questions in the near future...Originally posted by chanff8:first question, yes. Second question yes, but I'll recommend that you charge finish your battery at one go instead of leaving it half-charged. It is alright to let it charge overnight or for several hours if your computer is shut down.
As long as those programs don't use lots of resources, it's all right. However, laptops can heat up quite fast after using for a few hours. You can get those balls to stick to the underside of your laptop, so that air can flow and cool the base. If not, you can buy a cooling base from Popular. Not sure how useful are cooling bases, never used them.Originally posted by dinky1409:Is using a laptop using AC powered(battery taken out) for 3-4 hours straight advisable? Because I was using it just now and the base of my laptop was hot.. How ah?
Consult the tablet PC manual on how to use the tablet PC properly.Originally posted by casshern:my gf finally bought the tablet. being our "first time" having a laptop, i also had some problems fixing up some stuff for her so i hope some guys can help here.
for tablets OS they have this thing call the Input Panel, to write on it the space should be yellow, but dunno wat we press den the space becomes blue and cannot write on it liao. out of the 3 types of modes in Input panel, only one can be used, that is the touch keyboard.
also i cant seem to set up for her home network. i am able to connect to the wireless network to surf the net etc, but i need to set up a home net work so she can transfer files easily. the tablet OS doesnt seem to have the same set up as normal desktops. usually we will go to My Network Connections and setup "Setup a home or small office network" and its prett easy from there but the tablet is diferent lei.
any help?
sian man, the tablet doesnt comes with any manual, only a piece of poster paper to teach u how to on and charge the tablet.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Consult the tablet PC manual on how to use the tablet PC properly.
As for the network, go to Control Panel, Network Setup Wizard. Follow the instructions to set up a home network.
Thats normal. A cooling base can reduce the heat on the underside by providing more air circulation. It's pretty effective in my case. You can get it at Popular at around $25, some may be more expensive if the base act as a USB Hub as well.Originally posted by dinky1409:Is using a laptop using AC powered(battery taken out) for 3-4 hours straight advisable?
