  there are no information bar.
  
  a box appeared with the message Click to run active control on this page.
  
  whether i close the box or click ok ends with the same result - i am out of internet.

  This affects all IE users, after Microsoft lose the lawsuit against one company.
  
  After you install the latest patches, you will notice all ActiveX pages run this way. Click on the blank box and the ActiveX will run. Some Flash movies pages are affected as well.

  is there anyway to stop the box from appearing? very irritating. because my blog alr has a alert, and the active x one.

  Yes. In fact any browsers that are not related to IE, like Netscape, Firefox and Opera. IE-compatible ones like Avant and Maxthon will have to bear with this irritating feature...

  Yes. Switch browser. If you don't want to switch... then no choice. Happy clicking!
