help! my comp kept shutting down for no reason!

Hi, my comp always gets shut down for no reason..there's no blue screen nothing. The cpu just totally turn off! Happens sometimes and i'm afraid something is wrong with the motherboard? But no..i just gotten it change 4 months back..how can it spoil so fast?

Hmm..wait i now scanning..nt so sure also..cld be cause i always get this pop up saying i got trojan..but i tot is advertisement or something, never see clearly. Hmm got any other reasons also?

Hi,
Because the problem could be either hardware or software, I think you can try covering them both:
1. download the latest motherboard BIOS and flash. Follow instructions and dont flash wrongly. Also read the motherboard manual and set the correct jumper settings etc, to suit your other hardwares. This is important I think, since you got a new motherboard 4 months ago.
2. make sure you connect your every hardware parts properly, no loose connections etc.
3. go to BIOS and choose the default settings or fail-safe settings.
4. then update your Windows with every patches.
5. see your device manager, check there is no yellow exclamation mark.
6. update your video card driver, sound card driver, update everything you can find, from manufacturers websites.
7. update your anti-virus and anti-spyware and run them.
After you have completed this step, see whether you still get sudden power-off. If not, then good. If the problem still exists:
- restart and press F8, then load Windows Safe Mode.
Now test again and wait, see whether it will power-off. If it doesnt, that means the cause is in one of your services that load and run during normal Windows load. But if it still power-off during this Safe Mode, most likely hardware/ motherboard/ wiring problem.
For Windows problem, if you can't isolate the cause, dont waste time in frustration, back up your data to another partition or to second disk, then format and re-install. This will save you time.
For hardware problem, check again your motherboard manual. If you still can't troubleshoot it, can consider bringing your comp to a service shop. This saves you time. -

when u wrote "CPU just totally turn off", it seems weird since is "CPU" referring to the processor or just your whole unit that is housed inside that square box case?
mayb u wanna try to adjust by increasing the CPU (processor) temperature threshold if any system temperature monitoring utilities are running in your computer.
if u haven't fix the prob yet from the tips given in the above postings so far, u can help by giving us all the hardware/ system info on your comp -
Whatever reason it might be... first priority is to BACK UP your data before your computer die...

1) You have a virus. Scan for it. Remember to update your antivirus before scanning.
2) There's not enough power supplied to the computer. When your computer first started and not too many programs are running, it probably have enough power. However, as you load more and more programs and play some games, there's not enough power and that's why it will auto shutdown.
3) Overheating. This is especially if you are a hardcore gamer and overclocks. If you don't provide enough cooling facilities, once your computer hits a certain temperature, it will trigger the motherboard to turn off. -

If it is like the picture, you have gotten some spywares as well. Some very hard to remove to spywares. -
