his signal keep dropping till no more connection can be found...not even his neighbour's...he's using netgear.

Let's take it that the interpretation of your post eariler wa a misunderstanding.
Multiple walls will affect signals definitely. Correct Placement of Router is the key answer, cheapest and time saving.
If the above suggestion fails - then it's time to add accessories.
AS a matter of fact, there are no WIFI routers which can solve this issue 100%.
Do not close your door and surf if your wireless is in another room.

but i do have a problem n so does my fren (if u see his hse layout in PR) in placing the wireless router...if u place in the living room, some parts of ur house may have weaker signal strength...how to overcome this?
what accessories u r talking abt? does it apply to all brands of wireless routers/adapters? pls advise. thanks! -

Try not to deploy your router at one end of your house and use your wireless computers at the other end of the house. There would be naturally a lot of walls between your computer and your router.
Try to deploy your router somewhere in the center (try, most probably it won't be) so you can maximise your omnidirectional signal instead of allowing half your signal to be wasted outside your place.
Also, I read that you should elevate your router, keep it a small distance away from walls instead of against a wall with your antenna pointing up (for omnidirectional antenna).
Do not let your router get blocked by a large metal body such as a metal wardrobe or a metal sheet as that would disrupt the signal.
Choose a channel that is relatively clear of attenuation (for linksys that would be channel 11). There maybe too much radio waves sharing the same channel that would cause your signal to appear weak.
These methods can add a little bit of signal and range. For most of us living in HDB flats, our place is not big enough to warrent the use of a repeater or booster, not even if you are living in a 5 room flat or an EC. -

If your room door is facing the corridor (and the opposite rooms), you should try to place your router strategically to ensure least amount of blockage between your wireless computer and your router.
Is your corridor very cramped? Is it feasible to place your router in the corridor? -
Forgot to add, increase the signal repeat rate, that can simulate a stronger signal.
