when u have multiple walls...no matter how thin, many walls add up to become a thick wall....signal strength will definitely be weakerOriginally posted by FireIce:how thick can singapore HDB flats walls be?

This one, no dispute.Originally posted by tiggersgd:when u have multiple walls...no matter how thin, many walls add up to become a thick wall....signal strength will definitely be weaker
no problem.Originally posted by M©+square:This one, no dispute.
Let's take it that the interpretation of your post eariler wa a misunderstanding.
Multiple walls will affect signals definitely. Correct Placement of Router is the key answer, cheapest and time saving.
If the above suggestion fails - then it's time to add accessories.
Do not close your door and surf if your wireless is in another room.![]()
sis, any pics to show for the signal boosters? i'm more visual. thanks!Originally posted by FireIce:then is not wall problem
is ur house orientation problem
u may need to place signal boosters to "extend" the signals

my hse layout...
- rm1 is where i think i can place my router
- as i'm using lappy, should be ok if i'm in other rooms...
- but i think from rm1 to kitchen (not shown) might have a problem.
- if signal strength needed a booster, where can i place them? expensive?can mix n match different brands??
pls advise, thanks!
wif lappy, should enable me to be mobile? no fix place in that sense. all i need is the connectivity...Originally posted by M©+square:Where will your laptop is stationed most of the time / where is your workspace?
In this Case - It is most logical to place it in the living room.Originally posted by tiggersgd:wif lappy, should enable me to be mobile? no fix place in that sense. all i need is the connectivity...
First question: would rm2 be nearer to rm1? If so, can you place your router there?Originally posted by tiggersgd:============

Yes, it's indeed easy to administer, if you read the manuals. Follow the instructions and you would have no problems setting it up.Originally posted by tiggersgd:i heard that linksys is stable...easy to administer (router/adapter alike)
wonder how's the administration for Dlink/Netgear and stuff...any experts here to really help provide tips on securing these gadgets?
Very expensive also.Originally posted by FireIce:actually belkin is one of the good ones
