I'm afraid that your computer might be too old to detect the new USB hardwares.Originally posted by Parka:July 2002
That should be the point..Originally posted by Parka:I installed the latest driver I downloaded from their website, instead of the CD.

Try updating the drivers for your USB hubs. The latest version is 5.1.2600.1106
Either through Windows Update or you right click My Computer, Properties, Hardware, Device Manager.Originally posted by Parka:How do I go about updating them?

Print screen first. Then go to MS Paint, use the select tool and cut off the part you want.Originally posted by TehJarVu:borrow this thread a bit... how do people post just a section of their print-screen pic huh? example: the dialogue box in the first post....
or sometimes just a sentence of a chinese text like below:-

find your prob 'complicated'. you claim that your s9000's a new printer then you say it just come back from servicing. please if you have the the user and installation manual please follow it step by step religiously. i have downloaded the s9000 user guides over at canon.com.sg and its not very user friendly. miss a step and most probably it will not work. i know of scanners and printers and other peripherals that may have rather 'complicated' installation process too.Originally posted by Parka:I've got this new USB printer, Canon s9000.
Most of the time, my computer will pop this dialogue box (see below) when I insert the usb cable.
As a result, I can't get my computer to detect the printer at all.
- I've tried changing the USB cable.
- I've installed the latest printer driver (only by chance because the printer was detected just that once for the installation to finish successfully).
- The printer just came back from servicing and the guys there successfully did a print test using Win98. I'm using WinXP.
- Printhead was changed.
What could be the problem here?
Anyone faced with this problem before?
Help is greatly appreciated!
[i]Computer specifications:
Pentium 4, 2ghz. 2g ram. WindowsXP
After this, click on the select tool again. Click on anywhere, as long as it's the big blank white space as you have shown in the picture. You will see some small dots. To adjust, scroll to the bottom, an updown cursor will show up if you are at the dot. Just click and drag up, the size will be adjusted. Same goes for adjusting the width.Originally posted by TehJarVu:
thanks mayi!

I've tried updating. Most are 5.1.2600.0 or 5.1.2600.2180.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:I'm afraid that your computer might be too old to detect the new USB hardwares.

try going through the installation process again patiently step by step against the user manual.
I don't know if this way would work, it can be frustrating. Shut down your computer and off the power supplies. Leave it there for about 30 minutes or so. Plug in the USB cable for the printer. On your power supply and start up the PC.Originally posted by Parka:I've tried updating. Most are 5.1.2600.0 or 5.1.2600.2180.
The error dialogue still pops.
