Computer Hang

My computer hang usually when i leave it like for a few hours while downloading animations but when i come back it totally hang thus resulting me restarting it? anyone know what the cause of it?

2D i don;t mean it hang when i am only downloading animations it will even hang when i just leave it and go elsewhere and moreover i had just reformat it=XOriginally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:3D or 2D animations? -

My com hangs when i set the max no. of peers too high. -

Try increasing your virtual memory, animations sometimes use so much memory that it can hang a computer.
Right click My Computer, select Properties.
Select the Advanced tab. Under Performance, click Settings.
A new window would pop up. Select the Advanced tab.
Under Virtual Memory, click Change. Change the initial value to something bigger.
After this, click Set. Apply the settings.

The problem still persist this time, i'm not downloading anything just on my computer and went downstair for around 20min when i came up, my com still hang?

1st method:
Right click on your task bar, select Task Manager
2nd method:
Press Ctrl + Alt + Del simultaneously. Select Task Manager.
Look at the CPU column. Is any processes using near 100% of the resources? If yes, tell us which process it is. Don't kill it unless you know what to kill. If it's your Internet Explorer (iexplore.exe) or Firefox (firefox.exe) or any other browsers, just right click on the process, and click End Process. Restart it.
Next, how much disk space is left? If you have 80GB and less than 5GB is available, it will cause frequent computer crashes. Try not to use the hibernate option too often, as it uses up disk space.
Try clearing all your temporary files.

Lastly, check for spywares, adwares and viruses. -

how old is your com? -
The problem can be a simple as a clogged up heatsink fan (too much dust) - heat builds up and hangs processor.
Others are:
>> failing PSU
>> a leaking or swelling capacitor somewhere - can also be inside PSU
>> Failing graphic card
>> large bad sector in HDD
and lastly but not to be ruled out:
>> spyware, adwar or viruses -
not enough ram

its around 1year old, it wont hang while i'm using it but only if i leave it inactive like i dun do anything to it not moving the mouse then it may hang.

> under Display Properties, in Screen Saver tab, click Power
> go to Hibernate tab, and disable it
Your system probably couldn't recover after suspending to RAM, as such, yr RAM could be at fault, or your BIOS settings not proper.
