when i bought my first P3 computer with 14" LCD and additional original softwares and programmes oredi 3K over.
my lappie an old Acer P4 speedstep model oredi 2.9K
the above excluded 2 other custom build PCs i am having after that.
that's all the processor power i will never feel enough havin yet. -
sure every copy of MS OS will come with a unique serial number and there's a limit to the number of computers you can install it with. to use windows after installation u hav to go online to MS homepage and register else after the 30 days activation period i dun know what will happen. if u get your copy of windows (dun care how u get it) and get the crack for it u can go online and register...too many registration of a copy with identical serial numbers and MS inline scan may arouse suspicion.Originally posted by Chelzea:aniway if i refuse to install original microsoft on my com dey cant do anithing rite

No you can't... You can't install your laptop's MS XP on desktop as it's coded to your laptop or so called OEM version... And if you want to check, normally one copy of MS Win XP can only be installed one time, unless you have a corporate version that allows a specified numbers of license for use...

For Microsoft Office, it's the same. Family pack allows up to 5 users, business depends on how many licenses you ask for, Teacher/Student edition allows you to install a maximum of 3 users. -

Only DIY computers aren't. They either use pirated OS or legitimate OS bought from Microsoft directly or Microsoft certified shops. -

Most OS disc came with computers are just for recovery on that machine. However, unless u purchase a mass lisense, i think even if you can, you are only legally right to install 1 copy to 1 computer. Using 1 copy of windows on more than 1 computer at the same time might place ur OS in Microsoft's blacklist, thus marking it as illegal and deprived u all your rights to enjoy security upgrades. -

As far as i know, 90% of the laptops that only provides you with a recovery disc will have a product key sticker on the laptop itself. I used my acer desktop Windows XP disc for my dad's laptop (that comes with Linux pre-installed) and it installs and works perfectly fine. Go figure
