Windows Explorer acting funny ????????????????
Windows only remembers 400 folder settings. When that number is reached some settings aren't retained any longer. You can change this to 8000 by adding this edit to the registry.
Instructions for use:
1. Copy all the text in the quote box below into notepad.
2. Save this as folder8k.reg
3. Backup your registry or create a restore point. (this is not necessary for fix to work, but should always be done before any changes are made to the registry)
4. Run this reg file, and accept the changes.
5. You will need to reset your preferred folder options.
code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU]
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell]
"BagMRU Size"=dword:00001f40
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam]
"BagMRU Size"=dword:00001f40
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoSaveSettings"=dword:00000000
Change "e; to
"Make sure that there's a space for every line, it should look like this:
