Continuous beep when booting...

  My computer beeps continously when switched on.
  It doesnt even boot to the bios.
  
  I tried switching to another confirmed to be working ram and switching it on.
  
  I tried unplugging the hard disk and switching it on with the same working ram.
  
  Still the same result. Anyone has any guesses as to what might be the problem ? The motherboard dead ?
  
  Anyway anyone can reccomend a good shop at Sim Lim Square that can troubleshoot and replace the parts that need to be replaced??

  go and look for beep codes and see if it is one long 2 short or

  maybe ur cpu fan ratio is nt set to the correct one and thus causing it to overheat.

  Its just long beeps all the way.
  
  The cpu fan ratio has never been changed b4. Anyway if its overheating, it should atleast be able to boot up rite ?
  
  I dont think its overheating, cos the cpu fan and the power supply fan all spin when i switch it on.
  
  The ram has been pushed till i hear the "click" haha..

  Try slotting your RAM in another slot, one of your slots maybe spoilt.
  
  If it still gives you problems, buy a new piece of RAM.
  
  If it doesn't work, answer this question:
  
  Is the beeping pitch high or low?

  beeping codes vary from vendor to vendor due to differences in bios, you will have to check ur motherboard vendor's website to find out what they really mean.

  Ive tried switching the ram between the slots, the ram im using is a new piece anyway.
  
  I think its the ram slot of the motherboard.
  
  The beeping pitch is high btw.
  
  Anyway, anyone knows any good shops at Sim Lim Square ?.. with patient staff ?..lol.. i hate stuck up assholes at Sim Lim Square.

  There is only 1 ram module for the machine so i tried it on both the slots on the motherboard. same prob. haha.
  
  Its a cheapo board anyway. Some ECS Elitegroup mobo. lol. Its a bare essential pc. not mine anyway.
  
  Aren't the prices at funan jacked up ?.. I think il stick to Sim Lim hehe.

  i had one experience where i just on my com like any other normal day (the cpu fan ratio was nt touched before and fans were spinning) then it kept beeping and once the boot screen goes away, the com turns off itself.
  
  went into the bios, saw the cpu temp very high but nt enough time for me to change the fan ratio, com switched off after that. did it on the 2nd attempt, must do very fast, then everything went fine.

  Try getting another fan and put it in. If you are able to get into BIOS, check the fan speed and adjust it properly.
  
  Also check that your processor is put in properly.

  your prob should be easier to solve....bios fan all settings if there should be remembered if there's an operating lithium battery. you can reset the settings to factory default by pressing a reset switch (if any) or removing waiting for a few secsonds before installing the battery back in place. it shhould be a safer and correct way to roll back settings for a safe boot up.

  But the thing is it doesnt even get to bios screen. It starts to beep from the time i press the power button. haha.. so there's no way i can get in to change settings and stuff.
