Slow transfer on MSN

I'm using a d-link router, and have NIS installed.
For the router, I have my comp set on DMZ, and I disabled NIS when receiving files, but still run darn slow?! I have no problems with bittorrent on anything too. Help please? =x -
Msn transfer has always been slow.

You know what, sometimes msn does brilliant for me and sometimes i get craps like you got. dunno leh.. i have been experiencing quite slow transfer rate, but never show the "if you are...... out why" last time got, now change plan liao never, but transfer speed is like 30-40kb/s, damn slow...Originally posted by JerzZzzZ:But mine's really slow. yea..cos normally i transfer .doc pretty fast...pictures are fast too...
but mp3 is slow...
maybe you can try zipping it and then sending...one thing it might be faster...another thing it is smaller in size since its compressed...
another alternative is to upload the file after zipping it onto yousendit or just upload to a image server like imageshack.us or photobucket...+ -

Have they been edited by Photoshop?
If yes, it might result in slow transfer as those pictures files can be quite huge. Try using ImageReady to re-size it, if not, compress it then send. -

This false DMZ definition is the one given by my router configuration page, so I guess it does removes any restrictions on my comp to the WAN.
Also, bittorrent won't work w/o DMZ. (I do know that port forwarding is another option, but DMZ's more convenient) Oh, and I know about size thingy, but when it takes 20 mins to receive a 600kb file, doesn't feel right! Both users are MaxOnline 6.5k.
