I do not know if I am under/over paying you.
willing to pay on per hour basis or we can work something out.
e.g. I pay S$7 an hour and you own whatever assignments you give me.
It is like you are getting paid with someone doing your job.
WWW?Originally posted by andros3110:Hi All,
I am fascinated with the WWW today and I like learn about more the creating and maintaining websites as much as I can.
I'm in my 30's and not from the I.T. industry so I am no expert.
I am looking for a course that will cover the basics of Info Technology and progress on to, from creating websites and maintaining it.
As I understand there are others programs like Javascript, PHP, SQL and whole lot more. I just do not know what it mean and where to start.
I like to learn to "walk" before I start "running" so I decide to seek help from u pple out there.
Please recommend any part-time courses (Certification, Diplomas, Advance Diploma) that can turn me into a 'webmaster'.
or if someone is willing to teach 1 on 1. will pay on per lesson basis.
Thanks.
anyone who created a website also call webmaster... y not start from those specialize course for webdevelopment... unless no one can give u a better sch, then go to Informatics....Originally posted by andros3110:Hi All,

Actually if you and frens juz wanna do online selling, then there is no need for so much trouble. A typical auction or buy/sell online sites will do u all just fine already. Sgforums buy/sell emphasize the products you sell muz be pre-owned but how they check rite?Originally posted by andros3110:I have some friends (getting to know more) who likes/wants to moonlight.

Most forums are based on PHP, that's why they are called PHPBB.Originally posted by andros3110:Thanks for the suggestions.
I have gone thru Dreamweaver and I have some knowledge of HTML.
My idea is to create a website to sell products and services and forum column.
so I will need shopping carts (can be scripts or expensive software that i may not know how to use) and knowledge for forum columns. Dreamweaver only covers basic web. For forum column which would be the best?

As for shopping cart, I used php to create a member registration, log on, etc etc etc, yada yada yada...
The codes can be easily found online, or if you insist, can be created easily on your own in php.
As said by another forumer, your biggest problem is how to secure it.
So far all that I have said cost you little very little.
no, home pc is not sufficient for web hosting other den early development.Originally posted by andros3110:Wow! Thanks!
I will thank you you name in my prayers, if you can advice how to go about doing it. Or at least some links that I can read.
I am no computer geek, so it might take a while for me to understand.
There are just too much to read on the internet with so many sites.
do you still use yr Home PC for hosting? any problems.
I thought of doing the same. Any advice on this?
If you have installed IIS on your PC, you can use it for hosting, though I would not recommend it. You can use IIS to test whether your PHP files work correctly.Originally posted by andros3110:Wow! Thanks!

Firstly, I am using a home connection, that means low bandwidth and cannot take commercial load of traffic.Originally posted by andros3110:Wow! Thanks!
