1). Price - DIY is cheaper
2). Custom types - if you dun need too good graphics card, or only need 100Gb drive, you can pick and choose
3). Individual stuff also comes with guarantee and you can go back to the shop if anything is wrong
4). if you still have the monitor and printer, you dun need to buy whole set again like off the shelf...instead, just buy a custom DIY desktop from SLS, and use the old monitor, printer etc...cheaper right?![]()

dell computers might blow up in your faceOriginally posted by gohkatkat:let me say something....actually there is not much difference between DIY and those that say acer and dell are selling.........
did anyone looked at the DELL price for a desktop.........the online store i think.......its selling at 899 now.....so cheap.......whatever for should i go do DIY now...........?
that's unless you are buying a laptop dude.......its a desktop i am talking about......which doesn't come with a faulty battery internally......anyway its easy to fix a PC.........the hardware i mean..............Originally posted by hisoka:dell computers might blow up in your face![]()

truth is if you know what to do and what its about diy is still cheaper.( i don't i admit)Originally posted by gohkatkat:that's unless you are buying a laptop dude.......its a desktop i am talking about......which doesn't come with a faulty battery internally......anyway its easy to fix a PC.........the hardware i mean..............
anyway........some DIY stuff is better because it comes with warranty which is better because you just send it to DELL ....if its like DIY....then you might have to claim warranty from various places....which is a hassle because of the runs you have to make...........if i were to buy a PC now.......i rather buy from dell ...acer............not some companies like sony because you are buying for their brand more than their product............
it all depends on the long run...but for now at this time of the year.......i rather buy from companies.....rather than DIY.
Intel has dropped the 'Pentium' naming sometime back on their processors. One of the newer processor is named 'Core Duo'. There should be no such a thing as a 'P5'. PGA775 (not 'Boeing 775') is just the pin out and a lookout for processor versus mobo fitting. If the number fits a board and a core, it is usually compatible between the two.Originally posted by Manager433:Now latest pc is still P4 or P5???![]()
I only know the latest one is 775.....
