Lenovo or HP - Compaq?

ibm last longer.... my sis still using Ibm laptop since 3 years ago... looks alright.. but the battery performace bad liao. and also, the Disc drive make alot of noise. but still working good.
lenovo... i dunoe.. looks qite plain
HP i only know their desktop last long.
compaq- i only know they are the fattest PC, but not so good
Comclusion: BUY IBM ba.. thinkpad -
Me used to use IBM ThinkPad since 1997 starting with 390X P3 450 Mhz (about $3k) before upgrading to T20 P3 700 Mhz (about $5.6k) in 1999 which me used until April this year till it finally failed... Afterwhich gotten myself a Compaq Presario Centrino Core Duo ($1.4k)...
IBM's strong strength is in its durability but pricy, however it's worth to pay the high cost at start as it can last me for so long for seven years... IBM machines also have limited configurations that might not match up with HP-Compaq... Servicing would require you to bring it down to Changi South service centre and another trip down to collect it...
HP-Compaq's strength is in its vast configurations availability and cheap, as for durability, me can't jump to the conclusion yet... Service for HP-Compaq is also good as you only need to drop it off at their service centre at HP Alexandra and they can have it repaired and sent back to your house... -

for one model there are different configs...
T60 got 14" and 15" screen, duo t2300 or t2400, 60gb or 80gb, 512mb or 1gb ram.......
there is no best of all worlds lah..........u are paying wat u are getting loh......sometime have to compromise the specs.......
but ibm online offers "DIY" configs......of cos, if u are willing to pay..........
for repairs and servicing, u can drop the notebook at ibm city centre, parkview square (the batman building near bugis junction)
u can request to collect there as well.....
