Nokia will next month ship an enhanced version of its Nokia 8800 luxury slider phone, upping the handset's camera to two megapixels and re-naming its the 8800 Sirocco.
Like its predecessor, the wind-themed 8800 sports a 208 x 208, 262,144-colour display, 64MB of Flash memory, tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE cellular radio, Bluetooth with wireless stereo audio, MP3 ringtones and a digital music player.
As before, the Sirocco's battery provides up to eight days' operation in stand-by mode and up to three hours' talk time.
The big change is the camera: the original 8800 could only take snaps containing 500,000 pixels. The new model also boasts a redesigned keyboard and navigator control.According to Carphone Warehouse, the 8800 Sirocco will ship in September. There's no word yet on pricing, but the since the current 8800 retails for around £450 unlocked and SIM-free, we'd expect the 8800 Sirocco to be at least that.
