  I used one this morning to boot into command prompt and change the admin account password, used another in the aftenoon to apply a software crack.

  when i first came to aus 2 years back..
  
  1 of my ang moh classmate came up to me and asked if my lappy has a drive for that...
  
  i replied no and he laughed at me for having a lousy lappy...

  this one to use side b have to use penknife or a pair of scissors to cut a square at the other side same level alignment...some more to write protect that face can use a tape or the given sticker to paste over the cut slot.

  nowadays small files people normally just send through e-mail, big files use thumbdrive. only use i can think of now is for storing drivers/boot up files, which nowdays usually comes in CD-ROMs.

  although seldom used, people still prefer to have a floppy drive. it's the typical "have it but don't use it, better than to need it but don't have it" mentality.
