Wireless Problem!

Hi guys, just this morning i used my laptop and found out that i can't connect to
my own home wireless network. I tried to repair but a problem occured at the
renewing of IP tingy, there were bytes sent but no bytes received. So i can't use
the net, but surprisingly, i could connect to my neighbours's network. So this
seems to be my own network problem, however the other coms in the house
were able to access my own network. Any advice to rectify the problem? Many

try use ethernet cable and connect to ur router's ethernet port to troubleshoot.

Go to your command prompt: Start, Run, and type CMD, press Enter
U try this: type Ping singnet.com.sg

Pinging singnet.com.sg [165.21.103.210] with 32 by

means it is ok (The numbers might be a little different though)
IF the above is not ok, type IPCONFIG
U should see the IP address to be 192.168.*.* (*=any other number)..if u dun, that means if it is not linked to your router.
Then u type IPCONFIG /RELEASE
Then Type IPCONFIG /RENEW

Now, open your browser. Type in this address: 192.168.1.1
This is the default address for MOST routers. If this is not your router's default address, refer to the manual given. From there, log in to troubleshoot.
If you are not able to solve the problem, press the reset button and redo everything right from the beginning. -
Hi guys, i tried the IPCONFIG method but at the renewal part, it get stucks again.
So i guess i'll have to try the cable part. Also tried system restore, but again
Bytes sent no Bytes received.

Try ipconfig /flushdns if it still don't work.

Hi, i solved the problem, apparently just by assigning a static IP to my com solved
the problem. Many thanks to all those who came forward to offer help. -
If possible, use static IP addresses for all your family members as well. This is to prevent IP addressing conflicts.
