Internet connection problems?

  Hi, i've noticed that Windows is unable to repair my internet connection..It says unable to renew ur ip address.Then, i spotted that when my computer is idle, packets of data is still being send and received..my IP address as windows stated is 59.189.4.225...

  go to Start, Run, and type CMD, and press enter
  
  At the command prompt, type IPCONFIG /RELEASE
  
  Then type IPCONFIG /RENEW

  Your IP address is not local...
  
  If the above commands don't work, try ipconfig /flushdns

  ah now its back to 218.186.XXX.XXX
  
  and i dont see data flying over when idling..but i wonder why windows is still unable to repair the connection

  Are you able to access the Net? If you are able to, this will prevent Windows from repairing it.

  yep..but then last time b4 this happened even if i can access the net,windows was able to repair the connection

  It depends. If Windows finds no problems, it will stop at that stage and report that it can't repair.
