download and install this...but I suggest U turn off the automatic updates because the first thing it will update is the validation thingy...irritating...

I always use this link one...it is supposed to be Windows XP Service Pack 2 Network Installation Package for IT Professionals and Developers...filename that U download is WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe ....dont go to windows update and use that one to download...
if not U turn on ur automatic update...download and install the patch...then turn off the automatic update...
