File Convertion From .rtf to . lit

  Hi everyone
  
  Does anyone know how to convert a .rtf file to a .lit file ?
  
  The original doc is in rich text format i trying to use microsoft reader to read it but it cannot read
  
  Tried just changing the file extention but it dosn't work
  
  So does anyone know of any program that does this or can sugggest a solution
