iPod Problems when adding new songs...

Started to have this problem about two days ago...first I tried to add some new songs into my iPod thru iTunes, which is something I have been doing since I bought the iPod. Somehow when my iPod is still connected to iTunes, it will show that the new songs have been successfully entered into my iPod. However when I eject the player and check for the new songs, it is not inside
Then I keep getting this notification as well whenever I plug in my iPod..the error says: The file /iPod_Control/iTunes/Temp File 5 is corrupted and unreadable. Pls run the chkdsk utility. I have run chkdsk and have also tried to delete that particular file, but it seems that it cannot be deleted and the notification still pops up whenever i tried to enter a new song into the iPod...dunno if this file is causing the problem above (not being able to put in new songs into the iPod)
So anyone who knows anything abt this, pls do enlighten me...thanks

got enough memory for the songs anot... -
got...i just deleted all my video files...so definitely got more than enuff memory...cos the songs only a few MBs nia...less than 10MBs...Originally posted by missqi:how many gb?

iPod is video iPod with 30GB btw...the last time I checked it still has around 18GB free space -

when u add the songs, u need to update the ipod so that the songs wil b transfer inside. I know of no recovery options for iPod if you reformat without backup.
Windows still can recover, but I lazy to take out laptop to teach how. -

The Traditional way of managing your music (Minus downloading any external software - for those who don't like downloading software) *Note, This Method only works with iPods with colour display..
I prefer this way.

I think you can use this as a temporary solution. Personally I use it all the time since my iPod's "base" computer is in Japan, and I need a software to transfer ripped tracks. -

You're using iTunes 6 or 7?
If you're still using iTunes 6, go download iTunes 7 and the control panel of the iPod is intergrated into iTunes now. Click on Restore to reformat your iPod. It'll reformat and reupload the songs back into your iPod.
You should try updating the iPod again in iTunes 7 first, see if it works by just updating iTunes. -

Most of the times if you cannot transfer its properly something to do with your computer. I had some problems when connecting ipod to pc, but all's fine when i use it on my mac.
By the way, if its really beyond repair, you will get a free replacement of the same model and harddisk and your warranty will be renewed for another year. the process takes 1 week though. -

and yea I did click Restore to reformat my iPod...all is well now...thanks for everyone's comment and help
