As the name implies, it's still in Beta, don't expect a lot of goodies yet. In fact, problems with ripping DVD might just be bugs. Otherwise, it could be like ditzy says, some protection codes in the program.
I think it is precisely because WMP11 is still in beta that I should make a lot of noise. After all. that's what betas are about.

I think the reason WMP doesn't support quicktime and Real files is because M$ doesn't want to start an all-out war with those coys. Maybe they have some kind of agreement (which, if it exists, might be in contravention of competition law) because there are programs like Real Alternative, Quicktime Alternative, Media Player Classic, etc out there; so clearly it can be done.
btw, to the poster who wants a player who can play them all, do a search for VLC in google. That will play almost everything under the sun.
I think Media Player Classic can too but I do not like Media player classic - doesn't seem to agree with my system.
