Mike problem

  hey guys,
  
  i have dell latitude D600
  
  i am using in built mike and speaker,
  
  Now the problem from last one month is, when i am starting the laptop
  
  the speaker works properly, but mike is not working and surprisingly
  
  after restarts mike and speaker works perfecly.
  
  So everytime i have to restart the laptop.
  
  i cannot identify the problem
  
  can anybody tell me ?
