Skype mouse makes neat travelling companion First INQpression Sysgration ASG 142 Skype squeaker

THIS IS among the most fun of all the products we haved played for a while.
The company called Sysgration from Taiwan sent us a sample of its ASG 142 Skype mouse phone. It looks, works and feels like a smaller laptop mouse. It uses a 800 DPI optical sensor and you connect it to your USB port. It works perfectly as a mouse but this is not the only thing you get.
The mouse requires a small installation and after that you are good to go. It makes use of a USB 1.1 USB interface but you simply donÂ’t need a faster one and you donÂ’t need any additional power. After you open the mouse you will see that the inside hides the voice over IP phone and this one is made especially for Skype. The phone has the green 1.3 inch LCD display with support for back light that will show you the names of the persons on your Skype list and their status. You can use and type the phone numbers as well and use it as a Skype out.
The keyboard has the standard red and green button to make callss or drop them call and, apart from the usual numerical keys there is a property key that moves you trough Skype menus - you can go through contacts, dial and history databases.
There are four additional keys on the side of the mouse phone. There are two multi functional keys that can tune the volume up and down or you can go thru your Skype contacts or numbers with the keys.
Making a call is as easy as with the normal phone. You pick the contact press the green button and after a few seconds you can talk to the other person. You can also pick the number or type the number and do the call. The interesting thing is that it supports hands-free speaker phone function. You donÂ’t an the external sound card, just plug the phone and it works. The phone weights 100 grams.
In shortThis is certainly a fun product. It works well as a mouse and it works well as a Skype phone, offering a decent-quality sound and a lot of options. We donÂ’t yet know the price but it should end up cheap and it can really help you out while travelling. It is a cute product, well designed that will make your life easier.
