  Nope. It's compatible with most antivirus vendors.

  If you never install Ewido before, then you will have the fully functional Ewido for 30 days. If you install Ewido before, it will turn into a limited version.

  Ewido is good to pick out what spybot cannot, but it comes with a price.

  I cheated a bit here. I deleted all registry entries related to it and re-install it. And got the full working version.

  So far, it has been effective for me. But like all anti-spyware, this one will be ineffective as malware mutates.

  This is also active only if you have the fully functional version aka paid version.
  
  Resident shield is the real time protection, like in antivirus.
  
  Self protection prevents malwares from shutting AVG Anti-Spyware. A few registry keys are involved, where permissions are set to prevent them from doing so.
  
  The others are self-explanatory.
