problems pls help

my com keep on hang when i play games or using net. it can hang at any time. it also hang when loading windows sometimes. is it something wrong with my RAM or others? pls help

your ram how big???

1) Boot to Windows, go to C:\Windows\temp and clear at tmp files.
2) Clear all yr internet history, cookies and delete tempory files.
3) What is yr memory size?
4) What software did u install lately?
5) Check on yr resource see if anything is running on windows background. -

Sounds like a good scanning is in order. On another note, 256 ram is really lacking.

256MB? U running XP or 2K or ME or 98? If XP, PLEASE upgrade memory to at least 512MB. 256 maybe the mininium requirement but in fact 256 on XP totally cannot makeup.
If you're run XP
1) Boot to Safe mode by pressing F8, log in, right click mouse at my computer and click on propertise. Go to Advanced, Settings on Performance, at visual effects, select Best Performance. This will disable the shadow, shade and etc and uses lesser memory.
2)Go to Run, type msconfig, at startup, disable software u don't really need.
EX: MSN,ICQ,IRC,etc. But take any files that's in C:\Windows which Windows need to run, dun disable it! Tis will speed up yr startup for Windows. -

64MB is the bare requirements for running XP.
128MB is snail crawling.
256MB is fast enough, though internet connections and protection stuffs can slow it down. Without internet connections and those protection, running XP with 256MB of RAM is real fast.
512MB is just so it runs smoothly, especially if you are some graphics designer and programmer. In fact, 512MB is the bare minimum for them. It will crash XP if you do those graphics-intensive stuffs or heavy programming, especially Java. -
looks more like hardware problem to me

i use XP before it can work in past but only recently it cant works and keep hanging. i did not have any new hardware insert. they are old. maybe something in PC burn out? my hard disc is fine as i got try in on other PC

Told u to add in more ram. Of course yr hdd is ok cause you're booting from another hdd with Xp running fine.
