SOFTWARE FIRM Microsoft said that server and desktop versions of Vista will have a protection scheme to shut down people who try to use counterfeit versions of the operating system.
The software protection scheme will limit features of Vista counterfeit software. If a legit product key is not activated in 30 days, Microsoft Vista will go into "reduced functionality mode".
Now we know what you're thinking, but this is what Microsoft means. Vista will let you use a browser but not all the time. Microsoft said: "Windows Vista will have a reduced functionality mode but one that is enhanced."
The screen will show a little sign saying "this copy of Windows is not genuine", while Aero won't work and the ability to use a PC will be impaired. -
oh well i guess we just have to wait awhile for the work around.
bu the main thing is the bugs they will introduce and the number of security loopholes they have -
man.. i stop it from accessing the net... then i wait until someome hacks VISTA>

I stick to XP and that's it. I have no money to upgrade my PC components just to accommodate to Vista.

I interested in the bit locker technology. good for corporates. Have been using vista RC1 until now le. no problems. -

i heard people who bought those new apple iBooks with dual operating system of Mac and XP have to be wary...the XP license will only be valid till 2007 or 2008...afterwards...you might have to uninstall the XP os...
heard it as a rumour anyway...

ok, the problem is that sooner or later you NEED to upgrade from XP to Vista cuz the cap limit of 4GB for 32-bit XP will reach sooner...as games need more memory, faster speed, or simulations, CAD programs, etc etc....
then you need to take up 64-bit for faster FSB, memory, etc... -
I'm waiting for Leopard OSX to come out.

I am using Windows2000 for my home network...also no support liao...but its good enough for my needs...
I know there are lots of people and companies still on Win95 because they dont need the extras. -

About the xp expiry date, it's a hoax. The licence you buy will last for a lifetime but you'll still upgrade it because more new generation games will use the latest windows platform.
Hahahahahahaha, surely got pirates who are able to pirate Vista.
Or one way, install the pirated version and don't use net or hook up the com to internet. -
