When i started up my computer today, the explorer.exe file doesn't run automatically. So i have no desktop icons or taskbar. I tried going to Task Manager and running explorer.exe from there but when i run it, nothing appears. I've scanned for viruses and there are none. So i'm not sure what the problem is. I have to run all my software from Task Manager which is really troublesome. Anyone know how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

Try System Restore first. If it doesn't work, refer to the thread below.
That doesn't work. Could it be because of a faulty hard drive? I've been using it for years and my com has failed me 6 times and all of those times i had to reinstall XP to get it working again.
