huh? all hard disk got casing 1 why got hdd no casing one...

please lah i think buyers need to know something more about hdd before they made recommendations or suggestions or remarks about what why this small hdd so cheap only 100gb and 'wah why this hdd so exp only 40gb'.
prices are subjected to changes though not limited to price cuts or drop with time. to have portablility smaller hard disks sacrificed speed, access times and capacity at a price.
FYI there are 2 basic diferent types of hdd.
1) external (so called with 'case' but prefered to be called as mod case)
2) internal (ATA or IDE/ SATA case)
for external hdd there are 2 basic speed transfer (USB/2.0 or firewire a or b). to add to the various capacity available in GB or gig, there are also sizes of 1.8" or 2.5" for you to choose from. that do not mean that the overall size of the unit is 1.8" or 2.5" it simply refers to the hdd used inside the overall modded case. Inside the external hdd is still an internal/ IDE/ sata disk.
for internal/ IDE/SATA hdd it is usually used in portable devices like notebook computers and some even in larger mp3 players. interface type can be SATA/ IDE and boosts speed of up to 5400 rpm.
so the nexttime when u see hdd and wonder why the prices are so generious or unreasonable, you may be skeptic but the truth is there are many factors to look into leading to the price tag on the products.
