S.O.S big problem...

my com screwed up..it keep hanging..wat could b done...it hangs at random timing..and even when i just open 1 application..wat could b done..might b the hard disk error right?

my fren helped me to change the batt on motherboard and it solved the problem...not sure whether does the problem lie with your batt...

Starting from software.
It could be you have viruses or spywares. Please update your antivirus and anti-spywares programs and scan. Remove anything found.
Update your Windows. MS releases patch regularly, which fixes bugs here and there. This might fix your hanging problems.
Next, did you install or uninstall any programs lately? If yes, they could be the cause of hanging. If you installed something, try uninstalling it. If you have uninstalled something, try System Restore if you are using XP.
How much free space is left in your hard disk? If it is less than 5%, please remove any unnecessary stuffs, like pictures, videos, songs, etc. If you want them, burn them to a DVD or CD or keep them in an external hard disk.
Now, digging deeper into your hardware.
Does your system clock shows the correct time each time the computer starts up?
How old is your hard disk? -
hard disk is new..less then half a year...
anti virus ran but hanged..twice and i du lan..
disk size left 7gb..total 40..
uninstall anything..yes...but system restored and did not help...
i dont think i install anything...
1 thing..i dont often defragment my hard disk...my anti virus is always working..as in u noe protect me from virus...just that recently i have not been updating it..ya..that should b all..any1 can provide solutions??? (reformatting would b my last option)
oh ya..as the update...where to update seah..

Is it possible to update the antivirus in normal mode? If yes, update it then restart in Safe Mode. Scan in Safe Mode.
You can try defragmenting, but it might just hang. If nothing works, you can try this.
Windows Update is free. -

If Safe Mode can hang, I can't do anything liao.
By the way, there's no such thing as Internet in Safe Mode, if you try, it might hang you instead.
Going into BIOS depends on computers. If it's a DIY PC, you can get in by pressing the Del button. If it's Acer, you can try pressing F2.
If it's others, there might not even be an option to get in. -
i went into bios..but nth seems to be able to help...safe mode hang is doin virus scan hang..arrrr..wat to do...

If software, for example, faulty drivers(e.g. video drivers), the freezing would be alot more predictable(like when playing games). Last time I had a pc that kept freezing and rebooting randomly. The problem started to occur when my neighborhood got a power shortage. The temperature and fan was ok so I suspected it was the power supply. I replaced it and it worked fine after that.
Check motherboard, graphics card temp, run memtest to check for memory failure, run manufacturer's diagnostic to check for hard disk failure. If nothing else could be power supply or motherboard. But those 2 are the last things u check cuz u wont want to buy a new one when it isn't the problem -

Please do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner
Click on Kaspersky Online Scanner

i wish the virus scan even completes...beside the virus is detected by my anti virus when my computer is running..

Rootkit is very dangerous... it's main purpose is to hide files. God knows what files they hide. sh!t i think my hard disk spoil..cos i scan alot of times liao...most of the time stuck at 30+ percent..best..i just read manga online i can use for 5 hour stright..
