  Branded ones please go to authorized centres to have it serviced. IT Support and Tech Corner don't give out warranties nor guarantees if other shops spoil it.
  
  DIY PCs, you can try your neighbourhood shops or Sim Lim.

  If they change some hardware, you pay around $30 to a few hundred dollars.
  
  If it's just software problem... then I don't know how much they charge. Every PC company does it differently.

  since branded...should have recovery disc given?just use the recovery disc...

  Check the box that comes with it.
  
  If you lose it, then borrow from people to install lor..

  if no kind souls...I take it to mean U dont have any CDs to reinstall...can migrate to LINUX if U are savvy enough lor...80 bucks for a OEM Windows(with the CD given to U) is still cheaper than a retail version of the same thing...

  oh. but i heard it's only a boot disc. anyway i'm using packard bell imedia z series.

  boot disc and recovery disc different...
  
  boot disc only allows U to boot up ur PC...nothing else.
  
  recovery disc reinstalls softwares(like Windows and other HP softwares) into ur PC...with default settings...so that is what U want.
