why some of my videos can't work properly...

okay I just got my comp fixed, had to reinstall windows and everything. Now some of my old video files can't run properly, it appears in some weird colour and it's totally unwatchable. I downloaded the DivX codec liao and still like that. how?

Because it has nothing to do with the codecs, its the render method.
Check if its RGB overlay or VMR7 or 9. -

Just wait for someone to come in here and tell you to install VLC player, coz it can play everything. Personally I have not used it.

Wat's ur VGA specs?
it might be codecs problem too.. Divx codec is not good.. some videos couldn't be opened and only showed some stupid rainbow colors.
U try to download StormCodecs.. it works to almost all codecs.. -
but i wanna use WMP...so used to it =(

Once u install this StormCodecs (it's cool)
u can use WMP 11 to open any of our videos.

But I can watch all movies (dat, avi, etc), animes (mp4, mkv, rmvb, rm, avi, wmv, etc) after i install StormCodecs..
It's free software.. u just search from Google Search to get it..

I found out the problem liao. Windows Media Player ver 9 is screwed up!! I upgraded, problem solved.
