overheat?

hey i have been using my laptop for long hours recently.
I realized that my laptop gets warm very quickly (less than 30mins from boot) and the ventilation area at the side(or issit radiator? pardon me i am no tech expert) gets really hot and sometimes stings my hands while I type.
Is there anyway to solve this prob? -
fan still working? better backup ur stuff b4 it goes out... or buy a laptop cooler...

Raise the bottom for natural convection, place a small coolant fan blowing towards its base for forced convection.

what are the indicatons that my fan is still working lol? i still hear the whizzing sound though.

nope lol. i am using nec battery. laptop model is nec versa e680.

nec doesn't make batteries, nec got someone else to make their batteries, last i heard was sony.

Dun worry too much.
Many laptops faces this problem, especially those compact versions, or a AMD-chip system.
Many models also lack an effective cooling systems. 30min is still under acceptable range.
What you can do is:
1) Cooler base - recommended
2) Operate in air-conditional rooms
3) Level the base of the notebook up slightly
Although hot environments shortens lifespan of notebooks, effects are not so distinguish. Also, once reached a dangerous lvl, most notebooks shut themselves down. -

If your notebook does not reach a stage where its so hot that it shuts itself down, then your fan is properly still working.
Still, if you truly suspect anything, bring it for a service or something -

i pulled my fan a little closer too as my room is not air-conditioned
really scared it overheats lol cos the occasional stinging sensation remains
shall go find a cooler over the weekend...any models to reccomend? are they afforadble? -

If you are unsure how, bring to an authorized repair shop for service.
You can also get a laptop cooler, use it in a cool place or elevate it. -
