lately i got this problem i cannot solve. my computer will just stop responding after a short while in normal bootup, however in safe mode it works well (infact i'm accessing the net thru safe mode)
i got a new HDD and also reformatted my 2 HDD (1 main system 1 backup), checked my ram and found one strip faulty, so i removed it and working on 768mb of ram now.
unsure is it a hardware problem or a software problem. i tried installing drivers/software one by one by it doesnt seem to be the software causing the problem as the hangups will still occur no matter in what order i install them.
i'm thinking it could be a faulty Windows XP installation because my CD is abit scratchy.
anyone else can give me more diagnose?

Try using Diagnostic Mode from Msconfig.
Untick every box and reboot. Tick back each box back one by one until you hit a problem.

common problem with win xp...just wait 1-2mins and it will work again, don't reboot as it will worsen the problem.
