How?

After attempting to install IE 7 and Windows Live Messenger, as the former doesn't work for me, so i uninstalled it. However the WLM got this thingy called the Live account which i find it so redundant and silly. i uninstalled the WLM shortly after that because when i click on IE, it's very lag and one extra window of IE poped up, it slow down the whole thing! Gee! Now i'm at a loss. Any help would be appreciated.

About one extra IE window... could it be Windows Update? Some are quite auto, and Windows Update slow the whole thing down. -
