Hi,would like to seek help,as my computer are not functioning well.
Recently i am infected with spywares,although it seems that i have remove it now,i think i have accidently deleted some important files on my computer as a result.I remember something like downloader.exe
Some of my work can't seems to be save now,for instance,i can't change my homepage ,edit my internet toolslnow,after i click the apply,the settingchange back to it default settling.I try to go to microsoft webite for a window updates,downloaded updated files but there still no changes
Secondly , i can't right click and save any files from any site,it will show a result cannot connect to the sites,however download from bitcomet ,flashget,etc seems ok.
Thirdly,my system functions seems to have problems saving the work too,for instance i click on the folder options t enable me to view hidden files on my com,but after i click apply,the setting changes
I also cannot update my window media player and files from my external drive such as mp3player files cannot be seen too.
My other stuff like vcd writer etc seems to be unable to work too,i am currently trying to reinstall them
Will appreciate if someone could offer me help,other than reformating the com

hmm what software did you use to remove the spyware ? Some of them have a restore function that can restore the files.
Also try System Restore to restore your system settings to an earlier time
If all else fails , try to reinstall the OS that might replace the missing system files. -
I think your computer is nearly gone case. I've seen a computer infected by a nasty spyware and it turns off nearly everything you need. Some work, some don't work, at times, half half. Like your Internet connection. Can connect and download torrents, but not to other websites.

I did a system restore already,everything seems well now,the com speed is ok,internet conection are normal but i find it weird when i look at my folders, under document and settings,the owners ,users,adminstrators etc all consist of weird files like NTUSER.dat ,ntuser notepad, and there extra folders of my recent documents,application datas inside the folder consists of shortcut for files that i open recently,is it normarl?i did a hijack scan but there not much entries inside.
Any suggestion hence?Is my com being hack??? -

Then paste your hijackthis log there and your problem post. They will tell you what to do.
downloader.exe doesnt look like a important file. looks more like a spyware.

Dont visit porn site.
Dont have sex
Dont forget to wear condom.

But Notepad shouldn't be there...
Yeah... Windows make a shortcut of every file opened. It is usually in temporary folders. Application data folder, like their name suggests, are for applications... but not many use it. I've only seen Microsoft used that folder. Any other files not belonging to Microsoft means you've got a nasty one.
