Game Freezes

  My game freezes during game occassionally.
  
  Com Specs
  1.66ghz
  1.00gb ram
  ATI radeon mobility X1400
  Intel core duo processor
  
  These specs are pretty new i bought them and they are less than a year old. The freezes occurs randomly. Sometimes when i play it freezes, and sometimes it doesn't. When it freezes, at times, i could get back into the game by waiting a few seconds. however, other times, the freeze was so bad that the whole screen had gone black. Thus, i had to resort to shutting down the computer.
  
  When i say freezing, i mean as though it is like a screenshot. However, the background programmes continue running such as mp3 playing.
  Also ironically, this freezing only happens when i play frozen throne. It doesn't occurs at other games such as Counterstrike.
  
  I've tested sound and display at DirectX and it has shown successful tests.
  Also i've run memtest and show no signs of error.
  
  Any help is kindly appreciated.

  i used to be able to play frozen throne smoothly.
  however. this problem only happens just recently.

  play 'hot' wheels. Im sure it wouldnt 'freeze' like 'frozen' throne

  maybe can try updating your video drivers...

  can reduce your resolution.
  
  another thing will be to check your system settings, adjust your hardware acceleration to maximum.

  ask mayi to give you the steps to adjust the settings, at her own will of course.

  i think i know how to do it.
  
  but adjusting it to maximum is more hardcore lehs.
  
  they say slowly adjust to the left (to the none side) although will affect performance however it can avoid some graphics error etc.

  decreasing the hardware acceleration does not help. still freeze
  
  can someone help me?
