  You will also need to check how much MB it can hold, otherwise, it's redundant buying so much RAM.

  Try looking up the manufacturer's site. Like if you use HP, go HP website and find that model of laptop. The specs should be there. Or if you have your manual, the manual will state what type of RAM it's using. Your manual will also state how much RAM it can hold. CPU-Z doesn't check that.
