  Sometimes I see that some people put their e-mail address with at and dot, instead of the actual e-mail address with @ and . . Why is that so?
  
  For example, sgforum (at) singapore (dot) com , and not [email protected].

  protection against spam bots.
  
  these bots will scan through the internet looking for email addresses, usually [email protected], den they collect em for their evil masters whom will sell them to dark forces and send you spam through email.
  
  but bots nowadays very clever one. even those anti-bot verification images oso can decrypt.
