And why the need for a router, when the the monthly transfer-rate is capped at 2GB/MONTH...??? The following statement is completely misleading...Originally Posted By M1 BroadBand:The 3G Router works together with the Vodafone Mobile Connect 3G data card, which is available from M1, to provide Wireless LAN coverage for users.
With the 3G Router, customers can set up Wi-Fi hotspots anywhere in Singapore. This highly portable, cost effective and simple-to-use product is ideal for both office and home use. The customers who will most benefit from this solution include :
- Mobile teams from accounting, insurance, legal, IT, media sectors working away from their main offices and needing easy access to high speed Internet services
· Outdoor or field force teams in the construction and engineering industries which need Internet connectivity to connect to their corporate networks
· Customers who wish to set up wireless connectivity at home.
I can see the bill-payment in the million-dollar range, judging by the way M1 charges according to S$0.01/KB.Originally Posted By M1 BroadBand:· Coffeehouses and retailers who wish to provide free Wi-Fi services to their customers.
Problem is, the intentional impression by M1's marketing efforts for its broadband services is exactly that of a home and office network solutions, rather than a mobile-based one.Originally Posted By FireIce:Using common sense a little, this is for notebook users who wanna check emails and basic net-surfing for infos when they are on the road, not for u to watch videos from youtube or dl movies from BT.
The cap is there to prevent abuse, if everyone buy this, then no one will need landline broadband..., so u had the wrong intention and impression when u look at this device...

12. Is the Unlimited Usage applicable for both local and roaming usage?
Unlimited data usage only applicable for local Singapore use only.
Roaming data charges apply separately.

"i called M1 again today to see what kind of reply they would give after Straits Times published their so called "UNLIMITED" broadband which in fact is Limited to only 2GB fair use policy and here's both CSO's named "RED" & "Khushy" told me;
As usual both CSO's told me that the 2GB data limit is set to protect the interest of subscriber in situations where there's unauthorised, excessive usage or fraudulent activities and the finance dept will call the customer if the 2GB limit has been triggered and i ask her if every month the customer exceeds the 2GB limit so does dat means their finance dept will call the customer every month. And she says the finance dept will review each customer usage on a case by case basis and will call the customer BEFORE taking any actions such as imposing any additional charges due to unauthorised, excessive usage or fraudulent activities.
And I asked both the CSO's then why put the word Unlimited in their broadband plans?
both the CSO's told me that M1 Unlimited Broadband Plans are Unlimited in terms of accessing the internet anywhere in Singapore and that's why they call it unlimited access from anywhere and also unlimited to surf any website the customer like subjected to the 2GB Fair Use Policy. "
yes but i still think its a wrong term to use "unlimited"....Originally posted by ditzy:If people took the effort to read the fine print, all these trouble could have been avoided.![]()
Because the 99.99% coverage happens to miss out SISPEC at pulau tekong.Originally posted by Y_Shun:yes but i still think its a wrong term to use "unlimited"....
then for m1, why dun they use the world, "everwhere"? isn't it better? lol
