Hello, what software is fast in opening PDF files ?
E.g, sometimes theres PDF files on net, and once we click, it open quickly, and not slowly like Adobe Arobat Reader, which lags the whole computer.
Then can the software also Create PDF?/Convert Microsoft Word files etc, into PDF.
Commerical or freeware oso can, but not adware/spyware. -
Foxit Reader, for reading PDF files. It's very fast, unlike Adobe. And no rubbish plugins, which I hated very much.
PDFCreator, for creating PDF files. FOC as it's open sourced. -
hmm how do i configure my FF to open the pdf files using the reader?
i tried to access some pdf files on the net, but it just appears as a blank page in FF. -
Mine doesn't. It prompts you 2 things:
Open with a program or save it
If you choose to open it directly, ou have to navigate to where you installed Foxit Reader.
By default it's C:\Program Files\Foxit Software\Foxit Reader. Select Foxit Reader
If it still doesn't work, change the way files are open.
Open My Computer. Go to Tools > Folder Options
Click on File Types tab.
Scroll down all the way to PDF.
Under Details for 'PDF' extension, click on Change. Click on the Browse button to locate Foxit Reader if it's not there. Then tick the "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" box.
Apply the settings.
This time when Firefox tries to open it, it should prompt you. -

Right click, save on the desktop then open it. That's the fastest way.
