not sure thou..Originally posted by wrexham:hey, just wondering, is there anyway to restart OS by itself?
sorry, a little technoob here =X
will it decrease the lagginess after you've used the computer for a long time?
thanks =D

your lag in PCOriginally posted by wrexham:as in not restart -.-
i just got "inspired"
cause when i uninstalled the avast!, it just restarted my OS, and it didn't take up much time.
so i was wondering if restarting OS alone can "cure" lag
oh well it doesnt.Originally posted by wrexham:as in not restart -.-

I highly doubt that you can "restart the OS".Originally posted by wrexham:hmm, so there's no way to manually restart the OS?
Nope to your question about lagginess of a PC.Originally posted by wrexham:hey, just wondering, is there anyway to restart OS by itself?

simple and freeOriginally posted by wrexham:hey, just wondering, is there anyway to restart OS by itself?
it's not that -.- its just thatOriginally posted by chanff8:The reason why it started up faster after uninstalling your antivirus is because your computer has one less startup program to deal with. To startup faster, just disable unnecessary programs from starting up with the OS.
Restarting will reduce a little lag cos the ram will be cleared, but it's insignificant. Adding more ram helps more.
when u play dota.. it laggs because ur system memory isn't enough.. and partly because ur video card is not good enough.. my p3 com 500MHz with 320mb ram doesn't lagg when i play dota multiplayer up to 4 playersOriginally posted by wrexham:no lah.
cause sometimes after i play dota, after some time, computer will lag =X
so i was just wondering if just by restarting OS can cure it
Is your program for auto 'ghost' restart a freeware? If so i would like top know more about it. And cold warm boot yes it will take a little longer for things to load if its right from cold. Restart will be just like Chanff8 wrote. It helps resetting the ram. As for games i agree with most others on the appropriate processor (multi-core even better) type, more faster ram and better graphics card if DOTA is indeed that power demanding.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Nope to your question about lagginess of a PC.
However, when you restart the PC without shutting down, it's called a warm boot, and it will be faster.
If you shut down the PC, turns off the power, turns it back on, it's called a cold boot, and things will be slightly slower.
You can, however, restart a PC automatically. I have files for that, using the restart program in Windows. I won't recommend that, lest you click on it accidentally and say bye bye to your unsaved work.![]()
Is your program for auto 'ghost' restart a freeware?Comes bundled with Windows. restart.exe in C:\Windows\System32
