I was thinking of getting MIO too..but im afraid that it might be unstable..then everything affected..alrdy singnet very unstable in recent days

You got to try both. Some areas, Starhub simply works better. Areas around Yishun and Sembawang are stable, my cousins are staying there, they have never complained.
For some areas like AMK and Hougang, Singnet works better. -

Service delays annoy SingTel mio users

Close to 100 customers of SingTel mio experienced trouble using the service recently, causing some to question whether the integrated mobile phone, fixed line and broadband offering was sufficiently tested before commercial launch.
In an email reply to Computerworld Singapore, a SingTel spokesperson said “less than one per cent” of 10,000 plus subscribers were affected.
The telecommunications company was reluctant to discuss technical details, but added: “We discovered that customised wiring set-ups for residential phone lines and the use of telephones not certified by IDA (Infocomm Development Authority) could have affected our installation process and service quality. These are temporary technical issues and our engineers are confident of resolving them very soon.”
The mio hardware delivers internet, IP (internet protocol) telephony and mobile phone connectivity services through a single IP gateway.
Service downtime first came to light in a local newspaper, which reported that customers could not use their residential phone lines or surf the internet, or both, several days at a time. A user, Razali Abdullah, reportedly asked why system bugs werenÂ’t fixed before the launch in January.
The newspaper also ran coverage of negative feedback, with many mio users saying that set-up was rife with technical delays and phone lines went down for several days.
Hardwarezone’s online forums saw complaints as well. A user who goes by the handle of “snowystorm” said the problems he experienced for more than two months went unresolved.
He said the three times that a technical assistant came down to fix the issues proved unfruitful.
“When one arm/leg [sic] breaks down, the rest of the services [will] fall like dominoes,” said another forum poster, “xcelerator”. -

Everything will run from the Mio Box.
I'm having second thought now as whether to subscribe this Mio this coming August.
1) Your Mio box have to run 24-7 in a week else it is as good as you do not have any phone at home.
2) Therefore any blackout or disaster such as earthquake will cause a disruption to your home phone. -

For house phone, as long as the calls made are local, the incoming/outgoing is free.
For mobile phone wise, I signed up their i-one plus plan-- 100min outgoing + 500 free sms+ free incoming plan.
Hence, I do not need to worry bout not paying bills on time etc since all the bills are consolidated into one. Best thing is I signed up Singtel-UOB credit card-- been earning $1 rebate every month. -

Hmm..
I think those areas that are old should have more frequent Singnet DC. -

As of now has the echo situation been resolved?
And all i have to install a PCI Lan card on my other coms in the house as to enjoy wireless surfing?
Any other troublesome issues/inconvenience i might experience as well? -
im on mio 3mbps, the mio teebee is no contract one, it bundles with the mio contract, i paid 200$ deposit for the teebee, if dun wan can cancel anytime and get back $200
but i burnt my 2wire 2700hgv2 modem within the first 3 days, went for a one to one exchange, alot ppl at the 2wire office complaining about it
the place is quite inassecable if no car, me bro drive me there, also diiff to find, it is at 76 playfair road -

Personally, I prefer a card, to make sure it lasts long. USB hardware tends to spoil fast so I don't really like it.
Remember that your PCI cards are not plug and play kind, unlike your USB adapters. Read the manual carefully to get the card working.
