Why my Windows sometimes auto restart?

  Heat problems - very obvious. Overheating of hardware components will force a shutdown and the PC will restart.
  
  Security problem - some viruses are known to make a PC auto restart. One of them is Blaster. Otherwise, you have someone who is able to control your PC, and is able to do an auto reboot without you knowing.
  
  Software problem - if you have parental software installed, and it has settings which auto reboots after X hours of use, that may explain why. Or other software bugs. That is hardly the case and is seldom seen.
  
  A hard disk that is dying will give lots of problems.

  Hmm for some reason my PC used to shut down when it overheated. It didn't restart, so I was thinking it might not be due to overheating?

  I think is my software problem, bcos my hardisk is new, just bought last week.

  If you want to ensure that it is not overheating, check if your CPU heatsink has been clogged up by dust. If it is a new system then CPU overheating is unlikely the cause, though still possible.

  You are right in a sense. It's not always true that when something overheats, it will reboot.
  
  Some hardware manufacturers don't have this feature. It will just force a shut down when temperatures shoot to a certain temperature.
  
  Mine will force a shutdown and reboot when things heat up too much.
