FI is very cruel but she is right. Your old mails are most likely lost. One last hope is to log in to your email account from www.singnet.com.sg. Don't get your hopes up... you will probably not find your old mails there.
What you can do now is to make sure that it does not happen next time. One way to make sure that it does not happen next time is to use gmail.com
With gmail.com, you can download your email to your PC and still have a copy that you can see when you log in to gmail.com
What you do is this,
Register a Gmail account.
Download the "auto config" file and run it on your PC
Log in to your Singnet account, www.singnet.com.sg and forward all your mails to your gmail account.
There are a lot of other benefits like spam mail filtering.
