Reasons not to get Vista

In all due respect, I see Mr Bull Grates as the world's smartest cheater.
He can fool so many of us with that load of crap and we all happily pay in hundreds to buy his stuff although there are better options available.
Sigh..

The effects and stability shown in openSUSE are like 10 times way better then what Vista will ever be able to do with any number of patches or service packs..
Any other openSUSE+Beryl user here? :p -

to Linux!
As each newer versions of Windows come out, the hardware requirements increased. I don't have that kind of money to keep upgrading just to keep up with Microsoft.
Linux is a better alternative for older machines. Not just so, they are as easy to use as Windows, unlike in the past. -

Damn my friend can't even play AuditionSea using my laptp sinc its Vista...
Some site says that C&C 3 doesn't supported by Vista..
And I believe a whols other range of games as well..

Most programmes designed for XP will not work even if you run in compatibility mode.

i used vista for months and i am using xp now .
except new UI-design , i really canT figure out wat's the big difference between vista and xp.
besids,i can use third party softwares to make xp like vista even more beautiful than vista -

There's also the way they handle permissions. In all previous versions of Windows, all new users by default are administrators. In Vista, they are downgraded, to the extent that they have to use Run As Administrator nearly all the time to get something to run.
Protection of Windows files is now even tighter, you have to bypass several security levels to remove a Windows file.
There are lots of differences, some are good, some are bad, some done without thinking. The changing of naming convention is one. -

True uh, unless SP1 can really resolve the various software compatibilities as well as driver issues, Vista will not get pick up so fast after all ...
Too secure/techy for norm user, need to re-learn some UI features, office2oo7 also have some diff in compatibilties ... resource consuming unless re-verb back to old UI ... but ... SP1 availability still a

tat alone also doesnt mean converting to Linux desktop/laptop for norm user a very viable option sigh .. much much improved, despite also various windows-mimic linux distros, undeniablly stil not matured enuff yet for a WIndows user to convert ... -
