ya lo... agree... if they make it an optional to install it its better.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:In XP, they lock down IE and that makes IE more vulnerable than anything. At the least, you could download other browsers to use.
In Vista, they lock down the firewall, antivirus and anti-spyware. It makes your PC more vulnerable than ever.
And running more than 2 copies of firewalls and antiviruses is disastrous for PC health. Nothing can be more lame than that.
More than that, their copy protection might be going the way of Sony, which is not only a security hazard, it's also a privacy hazard.
Their new features - really redundant other than serving the purpose of looking nice and easy to use.
Pirated versions are around, and according to a non-MS research, they are filled with viruses.Originally posted by BadzMaro:how about the pirated versions. Have the hackers n pros found away to go around thier.. 'software shutting' options..etc etc.. since it seems to violate so much of the privacy. Its like installing an official certified Trojan or Backdoor programme into ur computer . lol!
but the original copy also ma.. just that its packed with trojans , backdoor softwares , spywars n the stuff.. since it has access and can allow open connection to master servers to change files accordingly to themselvs right ?Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Pirated versions are around, and according to a non-MS research, they are filled with viruses.
dont worry... u count the number of Microsoft stuff compared to people who are trying to crack vista in the whole world.. mS is outnumbered..Originally posted by BadzMaro:but the original copy also ma.. just that its packed with trojans , backdoor softwares , spywars n the stuff.. since it has access and can allow open connection to master servers to change files accordingly to themselvs right ?
damn the internet. Now our computer also kana controlled. But i dun think they have the power to shut down all pirated copies ? China for instance.. how ?
i like what u are telling me..Originally posted by manyu882:dont worry... u count the number of Microsoft stuff compared to people who are trying to crack vista in the whole world.. mS is outnumbered..
This is how i see it.. every single hacker.. see's MS as this big piniata n wants to beat it up.. its like being a super power and having all these little countries and super terrorists trying to undermine u. its corporate wars , cyberspace style.Originally posted by the Bear:reason not to get vista: it's from Microsoft
that's all the reason you need
Microsoft is trying to screw the user as much as possible by calling their locks and everything "security"
thing is, since when was Microsoft things ever secure?
5 years after the launch of XP, they're still patching it.. and they have unleashed Vista on the unsuspecting world.. which i have already written, they were preparing a service pack before the launch...
i wonder what next?
you and you alone can use the PC and no one else? Microsoft will find out why someone else is using your PC and destroy it?
but i just worry about Vista's network system.. how it can log on to the master servers .. auto update. i worry that it will self activate and all that stuff.. not under user control u know what i mean ?Originally posted by manyu882:lots of pro and cons.. but however, i'll get the pirate copy of vista no matter what.. unless it proves me worth buying it, i'll buy it.
and also, the only time when i use microsoft legit is when i buy my laptop. cos laptop goes with that OS...![]()
when u install win vista it will ask u permission to activate auto update. of course select "i'll decide later".. den after u install liao, it will prompt u to choose how u want to update windows... just select you will update manually. den when you com finish download the update that time, u can choose which updates to install.Originally posted by BadzMaro:but i just worry about Vista's network system.. how it can log on to the master servers .. auto update. i worry that it will self activate and all that stuff.. not under user control u know what i mean ?

Given MAC's popularity.. if it gets as big as MS.. confirm also will kana hack.. every single time. same goes to Linus n the likes.
but we all still need ms .. unless someone creates something WAY better then MS n somehow manages to corporatesly secure deals with other major software companies.. they got NO chance.. he he

ya... we have already planned to buy or download vista pirated. cos really not worth the money to buy the original versionOriginally posted by furb:Not trying to be rude or something, you all complain but in the end you all will still be using vista. Why?
1) We are to used to microsoft user-friendly and nicer interface, therefore not wanting to try to use Mac OS and Linux.
2) Most of the softwares (Games and stuffs) support microsoft, some support Mac OS but very little support Linux.
3) Linux is only use (for now) as OS for server.
4) When microsoft cease supports for Window XP (E.g. not releasing updates and stuffs), we will be force to use vista.
5) All new PC comes with vista from now on.
6) We will never escape from microsoft clutches unless someone invent a OS that is more user-friendly, easy to use, better interface and better security than microsoft.
WHAT is DreamScene?
Your desktop background comes to life with Windows DreamScene™. When you download this Ultimate Extra, you can select a video for your desktop background the same way you select a stationary picture. You can choose one of the high-quality looping videos that we’ve included, or use a video from a company that produces content for DreamScene. You can even use your own video as a background.
1) Linux and Mac are as user-friendly as the others. That's no excuse. Two problems hit them - hardware drivers and softwares. Since these two aren't the major OSes on market, not many hardware developers will develop drivers for these two platforms. When you run into problems, you know where where to look.Originally posted by furb:Not trying to be rude or something, you all complain but in the end you all will still be using vista. Why?
