but then i dont know which version was infected
it was until i Run a copy which downloaded from Torrent.
its the business version cracked using kms activation server.
it has to be run in a virtual machine player like vmware.
people beware! the symptoms are that your Host pc(non virtual pc) will lag.. startup or shutdown..even if the cracked version isn't run.
so thats why i this morning go reformat my computer.
no la.. that version must load to vmware player one. cos its in virtual harddisk and config mode. this version i use to test it on my laptop.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:You really hor... asking for trouble.
By the way, you are lucky you tested Vista on VMWare, otherwise, you really need to reformat... doesn't really matter since you reformatted already.![]()

Free? What do you mean?Originally posted by simnatic:erm...what if i'm getting it free? should i install it?
if its free.. check it whether is upgrade disc or not.. if not its not worth it to upgrade unless u do a little workaround to clean install it..Originally posted by simnatic:erm...what if i'm getting it free? should i install it?
One thing about upgrade disc, you cannot reverse back to XP. Why? It invalidates XP license key.Originally posted by manyu882:if its free.. check it whether is upgrade disc or not.. if not its not worth it to upgrade unless u do a little workaround to clean install it..
as in i'm getting a free copy cos i bought a Compaq Notebook last year. It's part of HP's program...Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Free? What do you mean?
wait...what's the upgrade disc? is it as in i got an XP, then upgrade to vista? a bit confused here...Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:One thing about upgrade disc, you cannot reverse back to XP. Why? It invalidates XP license key.
You'll have to do a clean install (uninstall Vista, then install XP)
Does the notebook come install with XP or ?Originally posted by simnatic:as in i'm getting a free copy cos i bought a Compaq Notebook last year. It's part of HP's program...
Upgrade disc is used when you have XP. This will just upgrade your XP to Vista.Originally posted by simnatic:wait...what's the upgrade disc? is it as in i got an XP, then upgrade to vista? a bit confused here...![]()
yes it does...but i haven't really used the notebook much, won't really affect if i use vista, right?Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Does the notebook come install with XP or ?
So most likely the disc given to you will be an upgrade disc.Originally posted by simnatic:yes it does...but i haven't really used the notebook much, won't really affect if i use vista, right?
there is a work around to install a "fresh copy" w/o using the previous version...Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Upgrade disc is used when you have XP. This will just upgrade your XP to Vista.
The installation disc aka full package is used when you are not using XP (maybe wrong, but I know 9x cannot upgrade). You will use this installation disc, which will remove your previous systems.
not now yet...XP is still working fine with most of the driver/programs.. but maybe in the future.Originally posted by the Bear:have a very important question: do we need vista?
