Using microshucks offservice is as good as running a virus on his hdd.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Scan and fix hard disk errors doesn't replace any files on the PC.
I think the freezing during the transferring may have caused some files to be corrupted. What's more, he off the PC without proper shutdown procedure, further worsening the situation.
He can try the repair option in MS Office.
Guess what, you throw back to laptop manufacturer,Originally posted by manyu882:i no need remedy thx. btw its a laptop with warrenty

That's probably because of the ram or the read/write head of the hdd misplaced.Originally posted by manyu882:not some...its all... if not why his start up sound data mix also?
all yea.. thx for this info.Originally posted by Nelstar:Using microshucks offservice is as good as running a virus on his hdd.
Freezing of transfer can be caused by a myriad of possibilities.
1. IDE/SATA cable faulty
2. IDE/SATA cable loose
3. Partition corrupted
4. MicroShucks Winblows corrupted
5. Motherboard's ide/sata connection faulty.
6. Faulty RAM.
7. Faulty processor..
the list goes on.
Microshucks Winblows simply try to scavenge the rotten information (which may be a minor problem) by taking whatever left and anyhow re-write when the thing wasn't functioning.
There goes all the information..![]()

Most likely is corrupted winblows or partition.
And corruption can be caused by even more possibilities.![]()

lets change to linuxOriginally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:As Nelstar has explained.
You won't know what Windows does when something freezes.
Easy for a geek, hard for a noob.Originally posted by manyu882:lets change to linux
can replace.. by its manufacture so got warrenty ma.Originally posted by Ito_^:is it possible to replace the harddrive anyways?
seems faulty already, god knows it might happen again.
nelstar, thx for telling me that microsoft did a great job. i suspected that.Originally posted by Nelstar:Winblows have this extremely dumb storing data where it puts part of the data in X, part of the data in Y, part of data in Z and then point to the information.
When the system is unable to read the portion of the HDD where Y is, winblows will take its own dumb action to point only to X and Z together and thus render the file useless and senseless.
Thus, you get jumbled crap.
Especially when the system jumps into a restore mode. Do not allow Windows to repair the files. Windows is horrible when it comes to repairing files. It simply grab the information, change to pointers to it and cause even more problems.
In short. Never let windows repair a corrupted file or harddisk. It's equivalent to commiting information suicide. There is actually a way to undo the changes provided that u kept the log..... but you're never sure because Windows may re-write new information onto Y and thus make it impossible to recover.![]()
