HDD partition

I have a HDD that is partitioned into two logical drives: 1 system drive, the other to store files.
Is it possible to delete the partition to the non-system drive, and combine it to the system drive, without the need to reformat the entire disk? How to do this, if possible?
If I need to reformat the entire disk and reinstall Windows XP, will there be any problems if the same serial number to my original XP is used again? Will I get that 'product may be an imitation' message? -
You can try installing PartitionMagic.

To answer your first question, yes, it's possible. But take note that if you never reformat it again, your hard disk space will shrink.
For example, you have 80GB. 50GB for system, 30GB for other drives.
Deleting the 30GB will make this an unpartitioned space. Windows will still recognize the 50GB and show only 50GB after you reinstall Windows.
Second question: Without using any other softwares, there's no way you can delete a partition without reformatting and reinstalling. With third party softwares, yes. That's through Partition Magic, as sillyme has said.
Third question: As long as your system specs never change, Windows won't prompt that this product is an imitation. Rather, it will prompt you to activate, failing which will lock you out of Windows. This only applies to OEM copies of Windows. Volume-licensed copies of Windows don't need to activate. -

i did that and they reset my activation counter back to 0 and let me activate.

I remember reading about softwares which claim they can partition or re-partition on the fly.
Meaning they can merge or split your partition, on-the-fly, without destroying data.
I believe Partition Magic is one.

juz leave 20G for ur drive, the rest is up to u.[/b] -
